Besides the 300,000 ‘Frenchies” Living in London, it’s an often-forgotten fact that the name of the Paris founded startup disrupting home dining by bringing tailored experiences (and top quality chefs) to people’s kitchen’s, La Belle Assiette, literally means “the beautiful plate”.
So, what better way to remind everyone of this fact than by staging a three course Michelin quality feast, with Champagne, of course, and asking attendees to bring along their favourite piece of crockery with them?
It can be anything from a weird and wonderful piece of pottery, to a family heirloom; a stable of La Belle Assiette chefs will be on hand to work with both your plate and your dietary requirements, to create a completely unique dish.
The plate’s (or bowl’s) colour, texture, glaze and shape will all be taken into account and the food prepared with a desire to rediscover and celebrate the lost art of “plating” food.
“It’s going to be Instagram heaven” says Millie Ashbee, the event’s organiser.
The dinner will take place at L’Atelier des Chefs, on Wigmore Street in Marylebone, on 22 April, and tickets are available for either an earlier sitting, between 18:30 and 20:30, or a later one, 20:30 to 22:30.
Tickets cost £20 for an early bird ticket, or up to £40 thereafter.
The Champagne will be provided by Nicolas Feuillate, and “perfectly paired” with dishes created by the chefs.
La Belle Assiette allows customers to browse and book chefs online, who come to their homes with everything they need to whip up a fantastic dinner whether it is a romantic “date night”, or a dinner party with friends.
The startup was founded 3 years ago by Stephen Leguillon and Giorgio Riccò, and now works with more than 300 private chefs nationwide. To date, 10,000 customers have benefitted from La Belle Assiette’s service.
Champagne maker Nicolas Feuillatte was founded back in 1976, which it makes it the youngest of the large Champagne Houses. Nicolas Feuillate is the third largest Champagne Brand in UK Retail, and the number one best-selling Champagne brand in France.
Nicolas Feuillate’s mission, they say, is to “add enchantment to everyday life”.
If you cannot enrich your daily life with a glass of bubbly and your favourite plate, we despair of you.
